Oh my gosh in Spyfall part 2 when all the companions were getting turned into those creatures (I mean, we still don't know what those are?!! I assume cybermen but they don't even mention it? Or where the Master was when they kidnapped him?), I thought for a brief yet glorious moment that we were going to get a season with the two historical figures as companions with a season long arc of trying to get the original companions back.

Gah, I envy myself in that moment.

That's my big problem with Chibnall. I didn't really like his Doctor Who episodes but I thought that anyone who can write Broadchurch will at the very least be a competent showrunner. That's why these past two seasons have been genuinely confusing to me. I genuinely have to ask if he's even trying at this point.
