You monster

(Anonymous) 2020-03-04 11:19 pm (UTC)(link)
I never read it much, or watched the cartoon/specials, but oddly, I enjoyed the movie a few years back.

I like Peanuts, but I never liked Doonesbury and Cathy bothers me. I liked Family Circus as a kid, but couldn't quite figure out why when I got older.

Same.

I appreciate his innovations and contributions to the genre! Still not a fan of the actual strip.

I never liked it either, OP. I'm not even into the animated movies that much.

(Anonymous) 2020-03-05 12:01 am (UTC)(link)
How come? I haven’t read that many of the comics, but I watch the holiday movies every year.

I'm allergic to peanuts and as a kid I would be so afraid of them that I instantly disliked anything that shared a name/referenced them a lot. So yeah, I didn't like them either.

If you can read in an European language, try reading Peanuts in a foreign edition.
Peanuts in Europe is usually renamed Linus.

Don't ask me why, because I don't know.

(Anonymous) 2020-03-05 01:58 am (UTC)(link)
Hmm, I never knew that, I might give it a try then.

(Anonymous) 2020-03-05 08:24 am (UTC)(link)
Huh. In Spain we called it "Snoopy". Actually weird given than neither of the two are the main characters

(Anonymous) 2020-03-05 12:59 am (UTC)(link)
I don't think I've ever liked any comic strip.

(Anonymous) 2020-03-05 02:21 am (UTC)(link)
Well, you're just wrong

I love them, though I was usually mad at Lucy for being so mean to Charlie Brown (and everybody else), and mad at CB for not standing up for himself.

Mostly, i loved Linus and Snoopy and Woodstock.

CB did at least yell at people when he was pushed too far, he was considerably less wimpy than, say Fry on Futurama.

He did, that's so.
I've never watched Futurama, so I'll have to take your word for it.

Peanuts is godawful and weird. Who is the target audience? Neurotic adults?

(Anonymous) 2020-03-05 04:56 am (UTC)(link)
You say that like that's not a sizable demographic...

(Anonymous) 2020-03-05 08:25 am (UTC)(link)
Hmmm... Yup?

(Anonymous) 2020-03-05 11:22 pm (UTC)(link)
*shrugs* Everybody has different tastes.
