Having a technical issue with Rakuten Viki...

I posted this to the GC yesterday, but it was late and I'm not sure anyone saw it.

I've been watching a show on there and all of a sudden I keep getting an "ad blocker detected" message and it won't let me continue without turning it off or buying that stupid Viki Pass. I've disabled the ad blocker and clicked on the corresponding button that says I've done so, but still keep getting the same damn message. What gives? Trying different browsers, incognito windows, clearing cache, restarting browser, etc. doesn't work. I've done nothing different and have been using this site for weeks without issues.

Has anyone else had this problem? Should I just give up and watch it on youtube?

I'm sorry you haven't gotten any replies, but tbh... no idea what the issue is. Could it be an IP thing? You restarted the browser, but have you restarted the computer/reset your internet? Maybe try a different ad blocker?

I haven't, but I tried a different VPN. Using another ad blocker didn't seem like a good idea because the issue is that Viki is detecting an ad blocker already even when I've disabled the one that I have.

If you're using a VPN/proxy, it's possible that a website might have blocked that entire server and/or region from access but either simply doesn't have another page to show or want to hide it behind a technical issue?

That, or check your firewalls and antiviruses possibly? If it's cross browsers that could be the issue. I always have one browser that has zero add-ons installed just to check this.

I just went to the site with adblocker and then turned it off and things worked as expected, so.
