I'm sorry, OP. Being ghosted is really painful, whether it's by a friend or a partner. I've been dropped by a fandom friend, not quite so suddenly. We'd stayed with each other and gone on a holiday together, and it still hurts a bit.

Closure is always nice nice but as they say, closure is what you give yourself. All I can tell myself is that the person I thought I was friends with didn't really exist, though tbh that doesn't help as much as it might!

Your hurt is not even slightly irrational, OP. Being ghosted by a friend, no matter how you became friends, is never going to be a fun time.

I know I've left a lot of people hanging at different rates all because of my anxiety around dealing with different people in different situations. I convince myself I'm only leaving for a little while, but it rarely, it ever, pans out that way.
The lack of access might be what keeps them involved in the RPs that they're active in. When it comes to RPs and the interactions that come with it, it is very easy to get overwhelmed.
I do hope your friend gets back to you. As someone who always leaves without saying goodbye I never leave without regretting who I leave behind... It's not much help, but I'm sure your friend feels the same way.
