How do you mean? The actual policing systems at the time? Well, as far as I can tell, that's what the LoM shows cover - while they're filmed in the style of the crime shows of the time, the content is more realistic to the actual policing/culture. Although the British shows I'm thinking of are quite accurate to that sort of stuff. And both (LoM and the old shows) obviously had to sacrifice some realism in order to make them entertaining shows, otherwise it'd be 6 episodes of paperwork and one episode of arresting some disorderly drunks or something.

Actually, since our comments appeared right next to each other, I was just trying to set you up for a line like, "What's a girl like you doing in a place like this?" as though I'd just wandered into the same bar you were hanging out in. But insight into the industry works too.

If it helps getting a flow of ideas going, you're welcome to talk at length. (In no way do I profit from this illicitly.) I would do it, if I could translate logic problems into fandom-speak.

(That was more me explaining how I missed any hint you may have given that you wanted such a scenario to play out, which is obviously because I am a huge blonde).

Considering my essay is about theories of film and art realism applied to a short film by Stan Brakhage, wherein he went into his garden, picked up a load of random twigs/leaves/dead bugs, sellotaped them directly onto some film, gave it a name and called it a film. Not the most entertaining thing to watch, but pretty interesting from a theoretical standpoint. Also nothing to do with crime shows whatsoever. It's due in in eleven and a half hours :D

Over 11 hours? Well, it might as well be due next week then. I'm sure you can fit in a movie, several emails, and at least one lengthy phone conversation before panic level reaches orange, which is clearly the only time that writing should be initiated.

You already knew this, I don't know why you still continue to try. IT JUST ENDS UP HURTING BOTH OF US ;____;

I probably should start on it soon. The whole course is like lecture after lecture on postmodernism, and I have a hard enough time getting my head around the theory without actually applying it to anything in an analytical manner. It's only 1000 words, so I should be able to split up sections of 100 between wasting time on such activities of procrastination. Hopefully. I doubt I'm gonna sleep tonight though.
