I want to that maybe they'll learn, but chances are they'll just move on to the next unfortunate individual and wear them down until they quit too.
It's always frustrating to have the fun sucked out of fandom by people like that. Hopefully you'll find a better crowd and you'll be able to enjoy it now that you're leaving.

As someone that is currently running a pairing week in which I did not set content rules (literally the only rules are 1.) tag your stuff and 2.) it's this specific pairing), I've been getting scores of people angry and offended that I'm not choosing to censor a whole bunch of shit. The only response I've given to all that is silence. Totally ignoring them. I don't care how much something upsets one person or another; it's tagged, filter it.

Sometimes that blacklist is your best friend, you know? That said, I don't blame you for throwing in the towel. Response or no, seeing all that whining is annoying regardless.

I've seen pedophiles trying to shame normal healthy adults using "ageism" as an excuse for why not wanting to fuck kids is baaaaaaaaad. There's definitely people out there intentionally using bastardized social justice slogans to spread their agenda.

To be more specific - arguing on reddit why child brides should be legal, because it's "safer for a 12 year old girl to learn about sex from an experienced adult than from another child. And anyway, 12 is not a child-child and you're a disgusting ageist for even suggesting that. You should respect 12 year olds by treating them as adults, and when I say treating them as adults I mean fucking them". You'd be surprised how many open and unashamed pedos there are on reddit.

Coincidentally, those people are also often active on fandom subreddits, where they argue in favor of underage sex in fanworks. Obviously not everyone consuming and creating these fanworks is a pedophile, I do it myself, but I've spent enough time on reddit to know that there are many people (mostly men), who consume these fanworks for vastly different reasons than the author intended it. I suspect that people, who are oversensitive towards the underage fanworks on tumblr, have simply had one too many conversations on reddit, which started with "actually, there's nothing wrong with shipping fictional adults with kids, it's just fiction!", only to end with "and therefore child brides should be legal in real life". While I'm not defending their bullying behavior, their suspicion towards people who kink on these ships really isn't as absurd and unfounded as people, who aren't used to talking with out-and-proud pedophiles, think it is. I also used to roll my eyes on these people. And then I made a reddit account, and boy was that an eye-opening experience...

I don't hang out on any subreddits, and this reply was certainly eye-opening and different from what I was anticipating. However, I do think you're putting too much faith in people who are oversensitive about underage works on Tumblr. None of the ones I've met in the past few years have ever mentioned anything about guys on Reddit who support child brides. What they do is cry about how "old" women (read: older than teenaged) should be killed for reading and writing underage fictional characters fucking because it's "gross" and that means it's immoral, and tell teenage abuse survivors who write darkfic to cope that they're lying about their trauma and also need to die.

So no, I don't have faith that they're really concerned about actual pedophilia. They just hate sharing their fandoms with "gross" people who aren't hurting anyone and who they'd rather bully than block.

I suppose sociopaths from both extremes will use any argument to spread their agenda. Social justice has turned from a positive movement to empower the oppressed, into a weapon to oppress them by skilled manipulators. Reminds me of the pigs in Animal Farm.

As someone who runs a popular fandom blog, my advice is to be a stick in the mud. Just be really nice and honest and that makes them look like the assholes they are.
