NAYRT but in any fandom I've ever been in, the only reason I personally ever engaged in fandom (as opposed to just enjoying the media on its own) was for shipping.

Obviously not the only reason people are in fandom, but it does tend to skew very heavily (in my experience) to shipping.

Same. I'm in fandom for the things I don't get from the canon itself, which is usually shipping.

Yeah, shipping is what brings me to fandom. It's not the only thing I get from fandom, I like other aspects too. But it's the shipping that I'm here for.
