Return of the Joker is probably my favourite Joker portrayal on film.

Actually I can't decide between that and Mask of Phantasm, where he's also a sadistic bastard but yet again Mark Hamill's performance makes it.

Anyway with Return of the Joker I love that they had to do a more family friendly death than the original scene with the laugh gun but honestly I think being electrocuted (with an off-screen discretion shot) was almost as horrifying. I prefer the gun though because at least that means Tim directly gets to take his revenge... and the part where his laughter breaks into sobs definitely broke me the first time I saw it.
