I've seen the odd person say, "If you like this, I think you suck" about all sorts of things

It's hard to tell with anons, but there's really a dogpile effect here. One person will say that you're a terrible person for liking something and then suddenly a ton of people appear and agree with them. It's why I'm staying anon right now.

In fact, I think most feminists are complaining about misogyny in fandoms they like themselves

this kind of reasoning kind of bothers me because it's basically coming into someone else's sandbox and telling them that now that you're here, everyone else in said sandbox has to follow your rules...

I respectfully disagree. If a feminist is complaining about misogyny in a fandom she likes herself, she's not coming into someone else's sandbox. She's already stuck in the sandbox. And she probably likes the sandbox, it's nice and scratchy and she likes to dig holes so and she bets she can dig a bigger hole than you can, it will go all the way to China and she'll find DIAMONDS and- Ahem. Sorry. But, yeah, she's in the sandbox. And if there's a section of the sandbox that starts to smell funny to her, maybe she thinks somebody peed in it, why can't she say so?

The Bond fandom in particular has a huge range of fandom opinions. Fans can be highly vocal about their least favorite Bond, their most hated Bond film (I liked License to Kill!), they could make petitions in protest of a blond Bond. If a fan says to another fan, "This series is misogynist and if you like it you're misogynist too and a bad feminist," they really suck. But saying that, if they're fans, they shouldn't complain if they see something they don't like isn't that great either.

Both ways shut down discussion.

Umm, no. Not the way I see it. Just because a feminist in a fandom says, "Hey, the misogyny in this show really bugs me," does not mean that they expect everyone in the show to take the same opinion. Again, and I might not have the full picture here, but what I usually see if people telling feminists to shut up and stop ruining everything for them. Just cause I see a problem and call it as such, doesn't mean that everyone else has to see the same problem.

And who says you were in the sandbox first, anyways? It's not like there are roving bands of wild feminists out there, looking for fandoms to ruin. Like I said, we are in fandom already, and we like to talk about our relationships to our fandom, just like everyone else does.

Not to be confrontational here, but a lot of the ones I've seen in fandom discussions kind of do. It's really depressing because I know a lot of sane ones (and have to keep reminding myself of this).

I'd so be into that. I've been meaning to join an exercise club, and I flove roving. Do we get matching jackets? And mohawks?

I think it's more of a cowboy, oregan-trail type thing.

I was thinking more like Mad Max without Max. But boy are we mad! And exercising our glutes!

I vote for matching pink leather jackets!
