137 - Umm... the fuck? Is. That? O_o

145 - I'm not going to deal with a dub PERIOD. I don't care how "carefully" the actors were selected. I just prefer hearing the original voices. Proud to be a sub snob, but I don't have any hate for you dub lovers at all.

154 - I understand completely. For example, I get distracted by hair colors that aren't "natural". A good anime can make me forget it eventually, but I tend to stick to "realistic" looking anime like Monster. Of course, I don't watch a lot of off the chain stuff, so that's probably why.

Sometimes the original voice acting isn't that great. You just don't notice because it's in a foreign language.

Oh I notice when a voice is "off", not "flowing well", or simply grates on my damn nerves (lol). That "anime girl squeaky voice" is annoying in all cases. However, most of the shows I watch have had excellent voice work. Monster and Detective Conan, for example. I watched one episode of "Case Closed" (the dub for Detective Conan) and couldn't go any further. Mouri Kogoro's voice actor alone partially makes that show for me.

That would be Kamiya Akira. :D He's famous for doing the voice of Roy Focker in Macross. I was lucky enough to see him do live voice-acting one year at Anime Expo. He actually did his lines once in English!

Tell me about it. Sad how most people can't tell apart "seiyuu" acting and nuanced, subtle performances. Nowadays I can count from my fingers good japanese dubs that have truly amazed me, Mushishi, Shinkai films, Skycrawlers, Girl who leapt through time, Genius Party... and that's all I can think of.
