That...makes more sense. But a) that's really endemic throughout fandom in general, and b) not all RPers are like that. If you're not in the general RP community, you're probably just going to see the worst of it, just like only reading Fandom Wank would make one think that no one does anything in fandom but argue and whine.

In sum, it's a hobby, and there's nothing intrinsically more immature about it than amateur acting or writing.
