I definitely agree that murder mystery shows should be relaxing, and not weird intense militaristic procedurals, or grim Scandinavian character examinations

I think Rosemary & Thyme leaned slightly too relaxing possibly

I think the genre is broad enough to have room for them all. I love the intense Scandi ones but I love shows like rosemary and thyme too.

Obviously I'm just talking about my preference! There's nothing wrong with liking Scandi stuff, it's just not my cup of tea

I do think that the pendulum has swung a little bit too far in that direction in terms of in terms of what's being made, though

AYRT oh yeah I agree. Not just in murder mysteries either, I think the pendulum has swung too far in the dark and gritty direction for quite a lot of media. Looking forward to more light hearted stuff at some point.

Agreed. I had to give up after a few episodes, I just couldn't focus.

Still love the theme song, though.
