The milk thing is nuts because COWS GET MILKED EVERY DAY. Unless the processing plants and shipping are forced to shut down, there will be a continuous pipeline of milk, like slways. Grocery stores are constantly restocking milk under normal circumstances. People shouldn't panic over milk!

For what it's worth I had no problem finding milk today or last Friday. There were eggs today, too. All the unsalted butter was gone, though! Just the unsalted, not salted. Everyone decided they need to bake, now? Explains why there was zero flour, including whole wheat and bread flour, even the expensive stuff.

ayrt

EXACTLY!!! These are things that get replaced so often because of how quick the existing shelf rate is!!! Ugh, I can't stand it!! I have to say I got lucky buying butter before things got so intense but of course that was sold out too next time I looked too, not to mention most of the bread as well at the time.

Flour is a weird as hell thing to sell out of, I have to agree. I rarely go down that aisle unless I need it, but what the hell do people think they need three years of flour with when I highly doubt they bake anything regularly in the first place... and even if they do, (the same as buying an extraordinary amount of milk) they did not need that much of it...
It's like some sort of domino effect where someone sees someone putting something extra in their carts and thinking they need it too... just times one hundred...
