I do like Star Trek, but I feel like the level of idealism in Star Trek is unrealistic. Whereas the level of hope on Babylon 5 is a level I think is obtainable. It is the kind that takes hard work from everyone. There are missteps along the way and a lot of dark points before the end. That to me is something obtainable, not Star Trek's perfect future.
