I'm a millennial, zoomer. Why do you think I said "under 24"? It's the cutoff age for my generation.

Honestly it just sounds like the thing that bothers you is teenagers doing teenager things. Being dramatic and over-the-top has been the teenager gig since day 1. I'm an early 30s millennial, and to me it just reads as "I'm old, they're babies. Let them do whatever babies are doing right now."

It honestly just sounds like you don't encounter antis very often, which, I'm happy about. Antis are extremely toxic and in some fandoms, the largest part of the fanbase. The reason Voltron fandom was such a shitshow was because of antis, specifically. It wasn't just shipwar nonsense, it was a shipwar with a horrific, American Christian puritanical spin (with a flair of anti-kink radfem), which has since spread out to other fandoms. The average age for antis, from what I've seen, is ~21, so almost out of college. Not teenagers.

This isn't a case of "dumb younger fans with dumb younger people opinions". Antis routinely attack artists and other fans en masse, dox people, suicide bait, and throw around the terms pedophile/grooming as if they're getting paid to do it. Fandoms that have a lot of antis are a toxic nightmare.

you need to get off the internet for a while, srsly.

this lvl of ranting over something that really isn't a massive issue at the end of the day isn't healthy at all. get some space and decompress from fandom and stop over-focusing on something that's just bringing you grief.

Undertale fandom had a literal murder attempt over anti-shipping.

i'm sorry, but one extreme case does not make it a goddamn epidemic or something common, 99.9% of the time it's ppl being fucking dumb on BOTH sides and refusing to just log off and disengage.

it's fucking fandom, you do not need to inject your whole goddamn life into it and tbh you really SHOULDN'T. get some space and have multiple hobbies bc jfc the ppl that invest far too much of themselves into it are insufferable as shit whichever end of the goddamn fandom side they're on.

I'm with you, OP. I'm in a small-ish fandom and still have to deal with anti-bullshit, so all I can say is these people acting like they're non-existent are very fortunate.

These aren't the shipwars of old.
