(Anonymous) 2020-03-28 08:52 pm (UTC)(link)Well, there's going to be one last season after this one, so lots more story to go (and hopefully it won't ALL have to do with Mesa Verde).

I will say that despite my sentiment here, I'm really worried about Kim. She's been one of if not the MVPs of the non-BB characters and I just hope she doesn't end up dead.
I'm just a little over Mesa Verde by this point and in BB I was always intrigued by how Mike and Gus became involved so I'm loving that side of things.

However, I can partly see how, from the pov of someone who would be a bit less invested in it, they have been kind of pushing Kim's back-and-forth in the last episodes. Their decisions still surprise me though and I am definitely very curious to see where Kim is heading since they really had all of us at the end of the last episode...
I disagree with the widely spread opinion that the last episode was "Chicanery" level though, since that and the couple of episodes after were the highest point of the series for me.
I kind of have your opinion on the lawyer stuff on Gus' storyline though... He was my favourite supporting character in BrBa and I loved the Gus and Hector Salamanca backstory to bits, but I feel on the verge of thinking that they are overusing him a taaaad with the Lalo storyline. I definitely think it's well done and trust that anywhere they choose to go will be good because the scriptwriting is just out of this world in this series, but Gus would be an example of a character I would have no qualms with if he were given no further personal depth.

Can also see your point re: Gus. In Breaking Bad he was one of those characters where less is more, which is why I believe they ditched the idea of flashbacks after Walt killed him. Personally I think what we've seen so far in BCS isn't too much like going overkill but with someone like that you want to keep some level of mystery as well. To be honest my investment is mostly from the Mike side of things, but I already loved Mike in Breaking Bad. Using one of his last moments on Earth to tell Walter to fuck off is basically one of my favourite TV show deaths, even though I was sort of sad to see him go.
Ngl even though he's key to the parts I like, I'm kinda hating Lalo bizarrely haha. I really want less of him and more of Nacho, because other than Kim, Nacho is probably one of my favourite original characters from BCS.
I also really wanna say thank you for this comment because it makes me appreciate fandoms like this that fly under the radar. I am in some way bigger fandoms where it feels impossible to express a different opinion and have a nice discussion about it.
EDIT: Because my phone decided Walter was Walt *facepalm*
