I agree. I can never watch either of them since I cannot stand seeing animals hurt or mistreated in any way,

Yeah, same here. Like, much respect to the people out there who are investigating abuse against animals and holding those who mistreat animals accountable, I'm very glad that's a thing. It deserves to be a thing.

But indeed, the stories themselves are...very tough. From the few episodes of those kinds of shows that I've seen, the animal cops themselves have clearly looked haunted by some of the cases, so... It's a necessary job, but no doubt a very difficult one.
