Oh god, I used to babysit for a kid who had a Teddy Ruxpin, and she was so terrified of it! But her grandmother had bought it for her so her parents insisted that she had to like it. It would just randomly start talking in the night.

I remember on one of those "I Love the '80s" things, they talked about the Teddy Ruxpin dolls, and Hal Sparks joked about how he always thought those bears had some kind of subliminal message hidden away. He was like, "And Hansel and Gretel went into the... *Voice gets ominous* You hate your parents. Tonight you will go into their room and kill them!"

Yeah, they did that. I don't remember if it was my younger brother or one of my younger sisters that had the damn thing, but, wow, was it ever creepy.
