Cadfael - the detective is a mediaeval monk, so he doesn't have a family, but the monastery and town give him a found family.

Lord Peter Wimsey. Family's very much in the background, but they're decent and supportive enough.

Granada Holmes, with Jeremy Brett. Minimal family - Mycroft only appears once iirc - but the relationship with Watson and Mrs Hudson is how a good family should be.

Aw, Cadfael! Yes! His whole thing is that he's basically the single most sane functional person in his entire area. Also, solving mysteries with flowers and proto-forensics/medical examination. (To be fair to everyone else, they're in the middle of a civil war at the time, so there's reasons to be a bit monomanical and/or paranoid and/or delusional)
