Doesn't say anywhere that it has to be an unpopular opinion here in this very comm, just an unpopular opinion in general. Which it certainly is in plenty of fandoms. And drawing Asian characters darker than they they are usually happens out of a misunderstood sense of political correctness so idk what you're on about.

I'm saying that you're defending policing fanworks for politically correct reasons. Specifically, the skintone of the characters. And this surprises me because usually we seem to treat people who make social justice critiques and arguments about fanworks being made a certain way as the worst thing in history.

You will find it's not seen as politically correct to criticise blackwashing of none-black characters in most fandom spaces. Quite on the contrary.
