People who exaggerate negative qualities or assign imagined flaws to a character they despise are just effing annoying in this area.

If a character turns a fan off, that's fine and perfectly valid. But pretending they're guilty of something that they're not just makes me think 1) the fan is petty af, 2) probably doesn't even believe their own reasons for hating the character so they have to make stuff up.
