I hate this font so much

Secret maker (but not the OP)

(Anonymous) 2020-03-30 11:01 pm (UTC)(link)
Haha, sorry. Sometimes I just try to choose different fonts for a change of pace.

That's fair, and it'd be pretty sad if every secret was in 32pt Arial, but please spare a thought for legibility. Or put a transcript in with the post, either way.

If you're stuck at home, it's the perfect time to learn cursive!

Haha, they totally should! Damn zoomers making me feel old with their "we don't know cursive!"

AYRT - Or I could learn to knit, or code, or read music, or speak French, or any one of the thirty million things that would be more useful to me than learning to read other people's shitty handwriting/font choices.

Nayrt - It's totally fine if you don't want to to learn it, but then you don't get to complain that others are using something you can't be bothered to pick up.

Please. We all know you're not going to learn any of those things.

DA

My grandmother wrote like that. Being able to read her letters has value to me.

(And she'd probably have things to say about someone who could only get by in block letters, come to think of it.)

Again, sorry. It reads legibly to me, but then I'm old enough where cursive was still standard in school.

You know the secret code.

The Palmer method and d'nealinan.

This is one of the most legible fonts I've ever seen on FS. I don't understand the hate.

I'm a bit baffled myself. I know handwriting font isn't for everyone, but I thought this was fairly easy to read, plus I made sure the font color/background was a decent contrast and a large size. LOL, I guess someone just needed to get nasty about it.

(Anonymous) 2020-03-31 02:24 am (UTC)(link)
Kids don't learn cursive in school anymore. Therefore, giant, neatly written cursive causes some of them to have temper tantrums all over FS. One of these things is out of their control.

(Anonymous) 2020-03-31 03:22 am (UTC)(link)
I admit, the reaction from the anon(s) is downright bizarre. I had no idea anyone would see cursive font or using those particular colors as a personal attack.

(Anonymous) 2020-04-02 03:08 pm (UTC)(link)
Or they learnt it, because it was standard, but find it harder to read because they have dyslexia or similar learning difficultly.

I learnt joined-up writing in school as standard (didn't call it cursive in the UK), but I have dyslexia so reading script fonts is harder than plain fonts.

It's the 'I's, isn't it? Yuck.

It was the 'r''s for me
