TV thread

Anyone watching anything they want to talk about?

I watched the first episode of Vagrant Queens and I loooooooooved it. Super fun trashy space opera TV with really charming, goofy characters. Felt very throwback-y. Highly recommend to anyone who likes that kinda thing.

Looking forward to see if any ships develop, too.

I've got the episode to watch. Haven't felt like watching anything the past couple days with the sinus headache I've got, but it is first on my list when I put something on.

i'm re-watching kingdom, partly because i don't have much else to do atm and also because i wanted to watch it all again, and by god do i LOVE IT SO MUCH.

also i find it funny that in a show that doesn't have a single lick of romantic subtext in it(outside of a marriage and a one-sided crush/admiration), i ship a few pairings HARD. r.i.p me.

We've only just had a broadcast of The Righteous Gemstones and I wasn't sure about it at first but I'm a little taken with it now. It's not exactly a laugh out loud comedy (for something billed as a comedy) but it's keeping me entertained. We've got one episode to go and I actually screamed (in shock) during the opening scene of the penultimate episode haha.

Working our way through the entire run of Star Trek The Next Generation as well and man, I forgot how rough the aftermath of Picard's assimilation is in season 4. It's making me feel like a lot of media now just wants to move on from a massive plot point and never acknowledge it again. But from what I remember Picard being Locutus comes up a few times in future stuff (as it should.)

I've only watched the first few episodes of The Righteous Gemstones and I found it entertaining, too! I definitely want to catch up soon.

Started watching Good Omens.

What do you think so far? I actually like the show better than the book, which is pretty rare for me.

It is way funnier than I thought it would be. I am really enjoying it.

Picard just finished.

Killing Eve will be out soon.

I really liked Picard. I know reactions are mixed but I thought it was great. I'm a fan of both TNG and Discovery (and highly skeptical that this is actually an unusual position) so a kind of blending if the two hit the spot, and it was great seeing Picard, Seven and Hugh again. The new characters are great, too! I thought the last two episodes were a little... rushed, maybe? Like some plot threads and character arcs felt a little incomplete? Still liked it.

I enjoyed it a lot, too.

So many hugs...

Just saw the first episode of Batwoman and liked it a lot more than I thought I would (my friend was telling me how bad it was a while ago, but it didn't seem that bad), and I'm half way through the last series of Doctor Who and feeling pretty meh about it so far.

I'm currently catching up Hawaii 5-0 (and discovering a new appreciation for Adam...he's so damn pretty).

I'm debating whether to catch up on Supernatural next (or one of the several other shows I got behind on), or watch something new. It's hard to decide because there are just way too many shows!

Why did no one tell me 9-1-1 is like a gory soap opera? A ridiculous soap opera with explosions and compound fractures? There's blood spurting everywhere and then everyone is like "Let's talk about our feelings!" This shit is fantastic!

Re: TV thread

Sorry, totally thought people would have gotten that by virtue of it being a Ryan Murphy show. 9-1-1 Lone Star is about the same, except, you know, Texas.

I completely understand why all the shows would halt production right now, but I'm annoyed that shows I'm watching are likely not going to be able to finish their planned episodes for this season. Grey's Anatomy halted production after 21 (of 25 planned episodes) and Prodigal Son halted production before finishing its planned 22 episode run (and this is the first season so I was kind of expecting something really big for the season finale). Though 9-1-1 apparently finished filming its 18 episode season, so that's nice. I am not sure if Zoe's Extraordinary Playlist completed filming or not.

I read an interview with one of the writers where they said the season finale was going to be really twisty/disturbing, so I was kind of excited about that (that probably sounds weird, but I love dark/screwed up things). I was saving the past several episodes to wait and binge once the season ended but I'm not sure what to do now.

Though 9-1-1 apparently finished filming its 18 episode season, so that's nice.

Yep! I haven't watched since they've been back from the break since I'm trying to get some other stuff out of the way first, but I'm looking forward to catching up.

ayrt

Yeah, I really wanted that finale, too.

9-1-1 has been pretty good since it started up again (I liked the Lone Star spinoff well enough, but I just find the original's characters a little more compelling) and the next episode looks big.

Hopefully, Prodigal Son is able to do the batshit crazy extended Season 2 opening we all deserve.

Feel Good starts off kind of interesting, hits a bit close to home on some things. So does I'm Not Ok With This.

I'm finally watching the last season of Reign. The show had a hard time balancing its three physically distant queens and I really wish they had given Elizabeth more to do. Surprisingly, I'm really enjoying all the drama between Mary and Darnley. They are just so awful for each other! Megan Follows continues to have my heart.

I’ve been watching Devs and Westworld. So much happens in both shows, which are very intense.

The last stuff I saw for free was the original G1 Transformers, and some old Doctor Who (with the fourth Doctor).

I've recently finished watching Legion and I absolutely adored it.

Daredevil was amazing as well, I'm in love with Dex and Austin Power's would be losing his shit over him because this guy doesn't just throw shoes.

On the other hand it took me basically from the time time Iron Fist came out to just about a month ago to finish it, because that was some of the worst garbage I've seen in very long time.
