When I’m reading fanfics for my “problematic” ships I don’t want to read people healthy or fluffy reeditions of the ship, I want to read about how fuck up it’s and have it explored.

God, same. I want bad guys that act like bad guys, not some Hallmark Channel stuff where they open a bakery and raise a dozen kids (there's nothing wrong with that, its just not what I want and there's soooooo much of it to wade through looking for stuff I like).

Yep. I'm in a smallish fandom where I have this super tiny rare ship and i love it because it's kind of twisted. And now someone has started spamming the very quiet tag with "AU where character A did nothing wrong and everything is fluffy and cute" and ... wow way to ignore/retcon everything that's interesting about their dynamic in the first place.

Fucking agreed, if I'm into something fucked up I'm not here for uwu tuw wuv. It's a mess and I want it that way. Honestly it's why I always end up leaving fucked-up ship fandoms eventually, they nearly always turn into schmoop fests and I hate it.

Absolutely. Like I'm having this problem right now with a ship I'm trying to find fic with. Character A is a completely horrible monster of a person, but most fic is making him to be this sad confident soft garystu, while Character B just does not have time to deal with A's bullshit but people keep playing them as head over heels and a sucker for A's charm. I miss the days when people wrote about the characters for who they were, and not about whatever they think they're allowed to write about with OC's masquerading as the actual characters.

Yup. I don't think i have any real 'problematic' ships, but i like them, in part, for the *problems*. So gimme some! (Fixed or fluffy is okay, too, but not *all the time*.)
