I think it was an extremely mild reproach, very appropriate for someone with one interpretation trying to steamroll their friend for having a different interpretation. Nothing whatsoever was said about either headcanon being right or wrong, just that people are allowed to have their own.

Don't get me wrong, I'd find a proper "fuck you" from a creator funny, too. I just don't see where this is one.
