Getting Through a Pandemic with Old-Fashioned Crafts

Immediately thought of you, kaijinscendre!

I don't think I'd be making it through this mess without crafts.

Anyone else coping by doing "old-fashioned crafts"? What are you working on?

I've always liked embroidery, but I haven't worked on any in years. I dug out my box of embroidery floss, found some fabric, and started stitching. So far I've made a sampler with Thirteen's ear cuff around the words, "Darkness never sustains". Now I'm trying to copy the sampler from Felicity's needlework kit because I'll never in a million years be able to pay a hundred bucks for a doll-sized embroidery stand and kit.

Both of those sound neat! I remember Felicity's sampler from the story.

Working on my fourth skirt of the year, although #3 doesn't really count because it was just a pants conversion.

Yep, that is how I am dealing with this right now!

I like knitting. I have two unfinished projects, one I want to re-do, one I bought the yarn for a year ago and haven't started yet.

Aaand instead of working on any of those I started sewing a mask today. Found a yt video that shows how to put together what looks to be a pretty decent mask, with a pouch to insert a filter and sewn-in bit of aluminium to shape the mask over the nose, and I use Bernadette Banner as a tutorial for hand sewing. I'm really looking forward to how it'll turn out!
