JD's childish, emotionally needy and selfish. So is Elliot. So is Turk. Don't even get me started on Cox or Jordan. Kelso's evil, the Janitor is a sociopath and Ted's pathetic and evil-adjacent. Elliot gets the most hate from fandom, which makes sense since as a skinny white girl she is fandom's natural enemy. JD comes in second, even though his actions made him no worse or better than most of the others on the show. I'd like to think it's just because he's the POV character, but I'm pretty sure that some of it is that fandom likes imagining male characters are gay but gets really twitchy when they're canonically effeminate.
