What I hate is all of the people who seem to have the complete inability to distinguish between villainous motivations. Like, there's a huge difference between a character who is doing awful things because they want power or fame or money and a character who is doing bad things because they genuinely believe they're in the right or because they think it's necessary. You can't treat the two things as being the same because they really, really aren't.
