136. I stopped to read this secret in his voice. Like twelve times. Good thing no one else is in the office, because otherwise I would have annoyed everyone with my impression.

137. Well, your loss. Eccleston is a powerful awesome force, and he even makes things like The Sarah Silverman Program watchable.

153. His political affiliations were lamentable, but you've got to give some props to a guy who carried around his Oscar when the Allies rolled in. He used it as proof of identification and as a cudgel.

162. This is absolute fact, and nuts to you if you think otherwise. The first and still the best. I'm over-heels in love with all five of those series you mention, but Blake's 7 started me off and continues to be better than all of them. "Blake" is how you end a series, kids!

167. That's not a secret! That's vodka, you poop!

It's so true. Which isn't to say the other series suck or aren't good; they're all worthwhile! But Blakes 7 blew me away like no other. It's easy to see how it helped inspire the rest.

And it's crazy when you think that Blake's 7 and Star Wars debuted in England on the same day. If you want to look where a lot of modern sci-fi got its start, you'd probably be wise to search right around there.

Although a lot of fans have no sense of history, so I'm really surprised you haven't received more wank-filled "wah my show is better and has nothing to do with yours" comments.

My MIL has a story about how she and her friends sent a letter written in crayon to the production folks after "Blake" aired...because they weren't allowed to have sharp things. I don't think I was quite as bad off when I finally saw it, but the chocolate cake frosted to look like the planet from the S4 opening credits was very welcome...

It's still the ultimate awesome bummer ending, and what's crazy is that it wasn't supposed to happen at all. The plan was to end after series three, and instead we fans got massive trauma at the hands of Terry Nation.

That cake is a swell idea, though.

Hm, I hadn't heard that S4 wasn't supposed to have existed. Maybe my MIL mentioned it ages ago, I don't know. What the reply from the producers said was that if there had ended up being a fifth series, they'd have found a way for anyone to come back who wanted to. Presumably excluding Blake...

And thanks for the icon LOL. I'd been assuming such a thing had to exist, but I'd never seen it. :D

137. Ho, shit. Was CE on that piece of shit show? o_o I don't think I'd be able to watch it, because I'm kind of embarrassed on his behalf, but that's still kind of awesome if he was willing to go on something like that.

I know! I caught the tail end of the episode waiting for The Daily Show, and I may have yelled "Doctor Nine!" at an inappropriate volume. It's still a totally crap show, but it gets points for bringing in CE as "Dr. Lazer Rage." (Yeah, really.)

The full thing isn't up yet, but this should give you an idea. It's very mid-80s BBC.
