Rabid? Yes. Neurotic? Not quite, but getting there.

I like Sam, and I like seeing him and Dean interact, but I want to see him have his own life too. Would you want them to keep doing this their whole lives?

I guess that's just where we disagree. The show I fell in love with was Sam and Dean alone against the world, and that's how I want it to end. I don't ever want them to have their own "normal" lives, because that wouldn't be Supernatural anymore.

Besides, how could they ever HAVE anything normal, with what they've been through, and what they know? It wouldn't be realistic, or true to the show imo.

Maybe I'm just a sucker for the angst, but I really cannot see a happy ending for either of them.

I see where you're coming from. I actually see where a lot of "damn, it's the Dean show" gals are coming from, but...

I don't want Dean and Sam to stop loving each other and caring for each other.

I just want them to not be so damn codependent, because I don't think anyone realizes how damn unhealthy and permanently damaging it is.

I probably come from a different place, though, since I've been through a serious codependency struggle myself. I feel like I'm the only person who recognizes it and hates their relationship, and I sometimes feel like I'm watching the show to see if they can overcome it in the end.

Err... yeah. Sorry again for the "oh, pity me" comment spew.

Well you know, all of us watch/love the show coming from different standpoints, with different backgrounds and opinions. I'm not gonna say that one is more right than the other, but whatever happens in the end, some people are bound to not like it.

Personally, I like that their relationship is so messed up, I think it makes it interesting, and well, I'm into wincest. So that should speak for itself I think? Haha.

I'm sorry to hear that! And I do understand how you feel - I'm sure most people also do want a happier ending. At least as happy as Kripke the Resident Bastard will allow. ;)

You know, I think you're quite right, there are a lot of other pairings I ship that are way, way more messed up and it doesn't bother me. I guess it is really just where we're all coming from, and what we personally find interesting. :)

Yes, yes, yes!! This exactly. I really do love their dynamic. I am endlessly amused by their interactions, and I love how much they care about each other. But I too am bothered by the codependency, because it hits a little too close to home. I've got that going on in my own family, with my mother, and it's... really not good. True, they are fictional characters, so no one is really being hurt here. But I feel like I'm watching to see if they'll overcome it too sometimes. Wow, I am so glad I'm not the only one, lol. I'm not saying they are completely a negative influence on each other, but like I said, it hits too close to home, and it's not a pleasant thing. I suppose it is where me and

vaeltaa will have to disagree, because all I really want is to see them both happy and living a normal life, no matter how silly and naive that might be. (Read my secret, lol, Lifetime show.)
