I hate that movie for collectively shitting all over the most important comic book I've ever read. I know Clowes was involved with it, but it's still shit. It's more a Terry Zwigoff movie than a Clowes adaptation. (Although I felt like Scarlett Johansen was perfectly cast in this movie.)

144 That's how I felt about Eastern Youth. Well, kinda. I felt like a idiot because I got so into their music but I had no idea what they were saying, and a friend of mine told me that they played a show at some racist Japanese Nationalist rally, and that made me suspicious about them.

Anyway, I don't think you need to know Japanese to appreciate The Pillows. Also, you should support your local bands (if you like them at all, that is). That's important.

It sounds like the same argument the hosts on right wing radio use, that's all. Right wing radio =/= all conservatives. And believe me, I've listened to enough talk radio to know their seemingly scripted standard arguments.
