This is a common problem for writers.

OP, you have to learn not to give a shit. And then pull that back a little bit and just give a LITTLE shit. But you have to go all the way in not caring first. It's freeing and it teaches you a lot about yourself as a writer.

That said, a neat trick is to ask a friend about something they did with you that they felt awkward about. See if you even REMEMBER it. You probably don't.

We think people judge us far more than they actually do.
