Oh this was me just before Undertale went completely batshit down incestuous skeleton magical jelly porn road. I was upset but surprised at myself since up til then I thought that I had been completely desensitized by seeing a reading messed up stuff on the internet and surviving friends who were into whatever My Little Pony fandom were doing.

I think it has a lot to do with emotional attachment - like playing the game made me cry like a baby the first time I had completed the pacifist ending for Undertale - that it was a shock to suddenly see porn of it when I was still fairly emotional about the game. Not that I'm against people doing these kind of fan stuff, I usually see the humor in it or just mind my own business as much as I can, but its just the sudden not-being-emotionally prepared for it that got to me.

I get you too. With fanart it's hard to unsee things. At least for me. Sometimes it feels like someone is shoving their own nasty fantasy into my brain without even asking first. No I don't need you to put a cute fluffy dog into lingerie for me. Keep that stuff to yourself or your corner of the net.

You're a good person, OP. You acknowledged that it hurt you without immediately jumping to demonizing others who are into it. There's a popular AU in my fandom right now that I feel immense contempt towards and it actively hurts me in a way I never would have expected when I even see it mentioned, so I sympathize. But I know the people enjoying it aren't doing anything wrong. All we can do is be careful and mute a lot.
