He's not my least favorite Classic Doctor, but he isn't my favorite either. Three and Five are both better to me. I haven't seen any of One or two, so I couldn't say if I like those two better or not.

I’ve seen a few episodes with One (PBS aired some of them a few months ago as part of a Doctor Who special) and he’s kind of fun, but also kinda rude. Those Dalek episodes were weird as hell though.

First Doctor stuff is so fucking weird to watch now

Two is wonderful, he's my favourite Doctor (although I also would rank Three and Five pretty highly). It's such a shame so many of his episodes are lost, because Troughton is fantastic, and I really like his companions, too, especially Jamie and Zoe.

Thank you for making my comment into a secret, secret maker anon! :) I love the picture you chose.

I think a lot of it is because he was in the role so long, he was iconic in shaping what The Doctor is like as a character for a whole generation, and the show was really, really, really good when he was on it. There are a metric fuckton of Three stories that are rightly considered nailed-on classics of the series. Genesis of the Daleks, City of Death, Pyramids of Mars, The Deadly Assassin, The Ark In Space, Horror of Fang Rock, and Brain of Morbius just for starters. Whereas when you consider Five's run on the show, for example - I think I'm a lot higher on Five's run than a lot of people are, but a lot of that era (and Six's run) is egregiously bad television and Eric Saward is probably the worst showrunner of the classic show.

Personally, I think both the best Doctor and the best run of classic Who creatively is the Seventh Doctor period, but those seasons were not very popular when they originally aired and came right before the show went off the air for 15 years, so it's not as well-remembered. But god does it fucking rule.

Pyramids of Mars is so damn good. It’s one of my favorite serials.

Great comment. Love Genesis, Pyramids of Mars and Horror of Fang Rock btw!

I wouldn't say Four is my favourite but (as indicated above) he's at the helm for many of my favourite classic serials. That and the time he spent in the role mean he's the definition of iconic.

I do love Five but Peter Davidson definitely jumped ship at the right time. Feel so sorry for Colin Baker being the victim of executive meddling but at least he finally got to shine in other media and won over more fans (plus eventually got to make peace with how he was treated.)

As for Seven I know Battlefield is bad but damn I'm a sucker for anything that uses Arthurian legend as a base.

I love Battlefield! It has two awesome Brigadiers, Lethbridge-Stewart getting to have a little fun for the first time really since the Third Doctor, Ace having fun with her new girlfriend Shou Yuing, and Brigadier Bambera being adorable with her alien knight boyfriend. Also Jean Marsh was having a lot of fun as Morgaine.

I love Battlefield too, mainly because of Lethbridge-Stewart, who is my favourite character of all.

I love Battlefield, too, and I honestly don't think it's as bad as people make out.

I haven't really watched many episodes of the fourth doctor, but he's not really my favourite either - even though I do like some of the episodes from his era as the doctor, they're not my favourites either.

My own favourites are Two and Sixth but there's no deep reason behind them I just enjoy watching them on the show.

TB was a bit of a dick when he came into the bookshop where I worked. Nothing very bad, just being slightly unpleasant to someone who couldn't answer back. (Not me.)

The Classic Doctors for me go Two, Seven, One, Four, Five, Six, which I'm pretty sure isn't the order anyone's supposed to have 😆

According to my husband, you would be wrong. Heh.

Me, I don't care for classic Who. I don't begrudge those that like it though either. We're all allowed to like or not like something as we choose.

My favorite Doctor is 9, Eccleston. He was also my First Doctor.
