I'd originally started an overlong reply with lots of examples and references to scenes or dialogue, but I know this is your opinion and it's not my place to try to change it or force my own thoughts on you! I respect that you feel the way you do.

So, I'm just going to comment for the benefit of others, that I feel completely the opposite and think that she showed enormous growth - for her character. I don't think it's safe to compare her growth to say, Alexis', as quite a bit of Moira's changes are much more subtle. But to say she hasn't shown any growth - in my opinion - does a disservice to the character and the writing. As someone who knows a 'Moira-type' - I was impressed/ with how they kept her true to herself and managed to show how she's changed for the better at the same time.

She wouldn't 'be' Moira if she wasn't self-centered and over-the-top and kind of clueless. But she's now a Moira who can be reined in (even if it needs a little nudge) and a Moira who thinks of others (and probably of herself at the same time) and someone who cares deeply about her family and the life she's made, without sacrificing who she is as a person.

For her to have done a complete 180 would've been awful... it would've ruined who Moira is and how she fits into the family dynamic.

Again - totally how I see it. Just to give any other unfamiliar folks a 2nd opinion.

I agree. I haven't watched the last season yet, but I do think there are changes in her behavior brought up by a shifted world view (and I would even say that her character development is handled better than David's or Johnny's). The way she goes about things is generally the same, but the things changed. To me, that is good writing, and it works especially well in a comedy show.
