Ah, in historical fandoms it's sometimes difficult to ignore the female character. Or if there's a lot of backstory for the MCs involving her.

I suppose I can see why there. If there's history involved, I imagine there's much more of the desire to fit it into "canon" as in slide it into actual history that connects properly, so keeping the woman on the side but still there makes some sense. I don't like it, but...yeah I can see why people do it for historical fandoms.
