I like both, depending on how they are written. But I agree, if they dynamics of the characters are canonically a little conflict ridden or just plain devious, then yeah wish people would take more risks.

I tend to like dark/angst fic with humor and sexual chemistry sprinkled in, but I have one friend who mostly just reads like domestic bliss/wacky hijinks fics. I don't understand how she can only read that constantly. It just sounds really limited and two-dimensional. And these are for characters that have dramatic or angsty storylines. Like, I don't get it.
