102. I'd be very interested in hearing your reasons for this assumption. Also, if that was the case, don't you think we would have chosen more conventionally handsome people? (I do find them attractive, but that was something that developed as I watched the show, when I realized how much I liked the characters.)

Exactly what I was thinking. Without clarification, you could say this about any slash pairing... and look just as silly doing so.

But seriously...aside from House and Wilson, Sam and Gene are one of the most visibly slashy pairings around. No, I'm not saying it's canon, but you don't have to turn the slash-glasses up terribly high to see it either.

Also, Simm and Glennister are both guys who act themselves sexy in character rather than having pretty boy looks to carry the day.

This, and this. Some people admittedly ship pairings "just for the pretty," and it's not that I don't think Simm and Glenister are attractive (I do, but if I hadn't seen the show I can't imagine stopping on the street and drooling over them), but I think out of all the pairings they could have picked to say this about, Sam/Gene is an odd one.

I had the makings of a Simm fetish from the Doctor/Master stuff, but nothing prepared me for the intensity between Sam/Gene from the first "up-against-a-file-cabinet" scene. Yeah, I wear slash glasses, but that was a freakin' neon slash sign.

OH MY GOD I know, right? I remember the first time I watched the pilot, expecting to be mildly entertained, and I think after that file cabinet scene my mouth was open the entire time. The constant bickering like a married couple, too, and that awesome moment in Warren's club where Gene is defending him, and... well okay, I could go on forever and ever, but you know.

Agreed. I'm totally not getting the reasoning behind this secret, nor why LOM fandom's so different from any other...oh, wait, hang on... I think I'm calling "troll"/debate stirrer on this one. ;¬)
