Yeah, that's just disheartening. It's best to teach people basic cooking techniques and skills so they can manage themselves around a number of different meals and not just get them on camera to fail at making something they probably wont try again after this.

Agreed. I think the problem is that basic cooking skills are extremely useful, but not terribly interesting to watch over and over again in the context of a reality show. But almost all the "can't cook for shit" guys on that show could benefit from learning how to make a basic stir-fry rather than some of the stuff that actually shows up.

I love Antoni, but we all know he's the least helpful of all the team (except in like, one episode a season where he accidentally bonds with the person they're making over).

It's like he thought all he'd have to do is show everyone how to make one 'healthy' meal like in old queer eye and was completely blindsided when it turned out to step up to the plate he'd actually have to engage and empathise with damaged people's complex relationship with food and limited cooking abilities and resources. WhO knew?!?!?!

I wonder if its more about showing them that they CAN do stuff that seems crazy inaccessible. I didn't realize stuff I could learn until a friend of mine had me try stuff I would have said "lol yeah right okay" otherwise. It was super eye opening for me, and is usually really fun, too!
