I love it.

Like, the thing is... the world IS unnecessarily gendered, all the time. It's very difficult to escape, as a trans queer person. People assign gender to colors, articles of clothing, hobbies, modes of expression, shapes of bodies, and it's fuckin relentless.

When Jonathan calls everything 'she' in a fun gay way, and then I go out in the world and I get called 'she' by people-- strangers in passing or people I'm just not out to, or people I have come out to who just don't get it-- it makes it a lot easier to bear. Instead of feeling like 'ugh, that isn't me', now it's like 'yes, she, but in a fun gay way, not in a straight misgendered way'

...I guess I am happy that you find comfort in the mental gymnastics of telling yourself that people who misgender you because they perceive you as a woman don't do it because they perceive you as a woman but because they are being quirky and gay?

I'm not telling myself THEY are being quirky and gay, but I AM finding comfort in giving that to myself when I am misgendered day in and day out, and when for my own safety I am forced to misgender myself n public, thanks. I mean I'm just out here trying not to die,
