Also, OP, if you haven't heard them already, you've gotta go check out Within Temptation.

I discovered a fun new group the other day. Brothers of Metal sing stuff based on Norse myths and sound pretty awesome.

I dig a lot of metal subgenres, though I'm by no means an expert; I tend to like metal + something else. Like Epica and Nightwish, or Zeal & Ardor (black metal + chain gang songs) or Bloodywood (metal + Bollywood) or Gloryhammer and Alestorm (metal that is very, very silly).
My current jam is Riverside; you might like them if you're into epic melodic stuff.

btw here's a good video showcasing various styles of metal, including the bands/styles you like, if you want to get a feel for what the differences are & also a good list of bands in each genre:
https://youtu.be/NiXbz2rXzFA
(definitely check out the gothic, power, folk, progressive, & symphonic sections if nothing else o7 )

Beelzebubs!
(Anonymous) 2020-04-16 04:05 am (UTC)(link)It's a loving tribute/parody of European death metal and its surrounding subculture.
It's also hysterically funny.
Please try it out OP.
