Despite my issues with how they treated the OT cast... and the fact that the game decided to abandon logic during 4-3... I enjoyed playing the game. I do wish it had focused more on Apollo, but thankfully, his story gets explored in Dual Destinies and Spirit of Justice.

Ah yes, because "I can channel ghosts and look just like that person" is so logical.

I fail to see how that's a counterargument.

Because the games were always ridiculous and didn't always use logic, given Maya regularly channels ghosts, there's an entire goddamn case around a ghost possessing someone in the third game, Godot's entire everything makes no sense...

So what does that have to do with what I said about 4-3?

Keep in mind, I never claimed there weren't logic issues with the series. I said "game." Singular. As in Apollo Justice.

I feel like I'm the only person who likes Hobo!Wright

Nope, loved him to bits. People are just very vocal about Apollo Justice.

Hobowright is fine. In fact, I wish they would have kept him closer to that in DD and SoJ instead of the greenhorn who never has his shit together. (I'm guessing the writers were trying to stay "true" to his personality, but hitting a reset button on the last ten years was not the way to do it.)

I too love Hobo!Wright. I much prefer him to classic!Wright. Hobo!Wright is just so much more complicated and interesting and he's the main reason that I love the Apollo Justice game so much.

I hated it, not just the storyline but for the dumbed down gameplay as well. Like the obvious as fuck 'ticks' and Apollo's ability to be a 'human lie detector', yeah no thanks. I'll take the real game any day.

I too loved Apollo Justice. I remember when I first played it, I hated what they did to the happy ending that Ace Attorney 3 established, but I was sold by just how grim the atmosphere was of cross-examining Phoenix Wright, the former protagonist of the series, on suspicion of murder. Though the IRL factors of Capcom dragging Shuu Takumi into keeping Phoenix Wright in the series despite having a well-concluded arc for him were bad, the game itself had incredible atmosphere despite it. Perhaps because of it?

Don't get me wrong, the game had its flaws but it was hoped that a future game by Shuu Takumi would fix it. I'm not a fan of the new writer, and his contributions to the series, but eh.
