I gotta disagree with you on Kira and Odo. Can't stand all that "Will they wont they" crap.

Worf and Dax did it right. 1 or two great episodes of build up and then hook up at the end.

Odo had such great episodes. Kira too had some decent episodes. Their 4 seasons of "Odo pines for Kira" was dreadful. And when they got together they only really had 1 great episode as a couple. the one where Odo is pretending he's holding together better than he really is, but Kira already knows.

Deep Space 9 DID have the other great romance that springs to mind - Leeta and Rom. And actually, Bashir and Garak looked like it had some promise before the writers chickened out. Hell, all the relationships, romantic and otherwise were great on that show...

Except The Kira / Odo tease, and all the "Kira in love with this bajoran politician, in love with that Vedic"...

You know, at the risk of being called sexist, I really think it was Kira. The writers didn't know how to write her romantically, and she didn't know how to act romantic. The one time they got her believably romantic was in the Above episode. The character suited - and the acress was clearly comfortable - with a stoic, quiet, determined kind of romance, rather than all the girly shite they made her do for most of the show.

Agree to disagree I guess. I just really like friendships developing to romance. I do think it wasn't executed the best it could be on screen. But the characters work as a couple for me in spite of that.

Happy to agree to differ. A lot of people love Kira, and my being... less than appreciative... I get that mine is the outsider opinion, so simply agreeing to differ is about the best outcome I've ever had while talking about Kira.
