I'm not usually into teacher/(ex-)student, but I approve of this ship. They are both horrible people who use and abuse others, and I don't want them near anyone else.

Pictured: The moment when Tissaia showed Yennefer that she turned those students of hers who, after continuous abuse, didn't make the cut into eels to... use as mindless batteries to power her magical school or something like that (idk, it's not exactly explained) and Yennefer having a proud, happy lightbulb moment about it. rather than being shocked and upset that her friend was just essentially killed. Fuck both of them.

Also, Geralt should have let Yennefer kill herself via Djinn. He didn't owe her anything for saving Jaskier - she took her payment when she bespelled him and had him beat up the people trying to reasonably throw the sorceress who had turned their mayor into a mindless puppet out of town, and if not for the Djinn wishes no one knew were Geralt's that payment would have included not just his agency but also his life.

And as for Sodden Hill, they are only standing against Nilfgaard because Fringilla is poised to become a threat to their own reigns of terror.

I understand that female characters being so unabashedly greedy and horrible is important and more ground-breaking than good, sweet sorceresses. I still don't like them and think they deserve each other and only each other.

What is wrong with that bottom photo? It looks like "My hed iz pasted on yay!"

Character's got a twisted spine so her head is out of alignment with her shoulders.

I /liked/ them both for the reasons listed, but I absolutely still agree with you. Those two were in no way heroic and trying to play them off as that was a trip.

i mean, geralt caused the djin to turn up in the first place? he was hunting for it, found it, and him+jaskier let it loose. he got her caught up in the mess trying to save jaskier so i don't know why you'd think he'd leave her to die when she was only involved in the whole thing because of him.

yeah, she was tripping on the power it could potentially give her(greed is like her worst vice imo) but that's still not a good reason for him to leave her to die, since he's actually a decent person who's whole thing is about saving people from monsters.

the ship in this secret is a good one though, i'd be into it, mostly because of the insanely complicated history and potential mess.

Hmm, I mostly agree with this statement, except I think her worst vice (or at least the trait that has caused her and those around her the most grief) is her control issues. She's greedy, sure, but it's a very specific greed for things that will ensure that she has power over others and prevent others fro having power over her.

(Anonymous) 2020-04-18 04:20 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah, I'd agree that her desire for control screws her over far more than anything else does.

ayrt.

ah yeah i’ll agree with you tbh, i defaulted to greed because it’s was the closest word i could think of, but your point makes more sense and is more accurate.

Anyway... I love them both, this show doesn't really do the straightforward heroic trope, not even with its lead, and I'll never understand the concept of hate-shipping. It sounds like a waste of time.
