I'm 1000% convinced that Scott haters are racist and/or just care about Sterek. Before I watched Teen Wolf, I didn't even know Scott EXISTED -- and I started watching right before s4 aired.

Also, Scott is under SO MUCH pressure throughout the series, and Stiles (who everyone paints as the perfect friend) is... not, which, yeah, makes it easier for him to be a good friend.

i would hesitate to call stiles a great friend outside of life-or-death moments tbh, the guy constantly insulted and belittled scott and it was played for laughs 90% of the time.

like the dude was a jackass and was adored for it. both narratively and by the fandom.

I can guarantee most people don't even know the actor is Hispanic (I don't recall the character mentioning he is Hispanic). He looks white.

Oh, please. I don't recall Scott's ethnicity ever being mentioned on the show (though, to be fair, I ff through a lot of his scenes because holy gods he annoyed me), and I think I only heard about the actor's ethnicity sometime after I stopped watching.

Scott as a character sucked, and quite frankly, I started disliking him about three episodes in. Maybe two. Just...not a character I gave a damn about. At all. And his character never got better.

Stiles wasn't shoved down our throat as someone with the strength of character to will himself into being an alpha. He wasn't touted as werewolf Jesus who could do no wrong. Scott was. And Scott did NOT have the character or emotional depth to back that up.

He spurned Stiles for his act of self defence while he had the murder twins in his pack! After spending how many seasons pissed at Derek for killing Peter and 'stealing' his opportunity to become human again? Yeah. Right.

don't worry, the fandom made up for THAT. and it was 1000x more obnoxious than the show having scott just being the protaganist and doing protaganist things.
