this is how i love my villains: they're hot and watching them fuck shit up is fun.

also watching them get their ass beat by the hero is also fun, that might just be a me thing though.

Oh, yeah, I love them being deliciously evil and I also feel no regret whatsoever when they get what's coming to them. It's all around delightful.

Right there with you. Sexy and pure evil villains are my thing. Villains who love what they do and do what they love. I like all kinds of villains, really. But my favorites generally are the full-on evil ones. It is fascinating to explore how they got there. And their enthusiasm is interesting to watch.

I love what I do, I just wish I could find a full time job doing it. But yes, in fictional characters, enthusiasm is something I like, whether in villains or heroes. And I honestly like clear lines. I like full on heroes and full on villains.

The good news is that this guy is full-on evil and the two people who fight against him are extremely heroic. The bad news is that means they absolutely didn't deserve what he did to them...and yet I'm still just really impressed by his determination. He had a goal and he went for it.

Seen enough secrets about it so now I want details.

It's a Chinese XianXia/historical fantasy drama based on a BL webnovel (and while the show has the BL part censored it's pretty obvious from the remaining subtext). The plot is split between the flashback/past timeline which is basically first some lighthearted school shenanigans that turn into a war story with political and personal intrigue and the present plot, which is more or less a murder mystery, in a way.

Apart from some effects, it has pretty high production values and is quite entertaining.
