It's actually both ways with me. I have little respect for slash fangirls who are both pro and anti gay marriage. Anti because of the obvious hypocrisy, but pro because most (repeat, MOST, not all) of them just want easier access to the pretty gay bois who fuck each other. That... makes no sense. Considering how many slash (and het, and femme-slash) fans don't even bring UP marriage in their fics, why would real-world gay marriage be a factor at all? Not to mention the many, many fics that take place on/in places other than present-day Earth, where you could easily say gay marriage IS legal, again, regardless of real-world circumstances.

I don't know where you're looking, but MOST of the slash fans I've seen actually give a shit about gay rights, many are bisexual themselves, and MANY have friends that the gay marriage issue DIRECTLY EFFECTS.

And, you know, gay marriage hasn't been legal for a long, long time. For the short time that it WAS in California, I highly doubt the slash fangirls living in California had any "easier access" to their slash. The original OP's comment was trying to say that ALL slash fans only care about gay rights because of the fictional buttsex, but your logic isn't all that much better.
