I've been in similar situations. I usually manage to give the thing up at some point, feel really bad for about a week, then start to get over it. After about a month my gut catches up with all the rational reasoning that convinced me to get out, and suddenly I'm glad I did it.

Can I tell you how much I love this image choice? 'Cause I seriously love it!
I haven't been in charge of a groups or anything like that, and mostly because of this exact reason. Things can sour very quickly, or I can end up losing interest even if it doesn't. I'd never want to ditch it, but I wouldn't be comfortable with just leaving it to someone I didn't know could do a proper job with it.

Best of luck to you OP! It all depends on how much the group drains you tbh, you might have to bite the bullet and let someone else take over if only temporarily to give you some perspective and to test how well someone else does with it?

I could have written this secret, although I passed the reigns to someone who is more into it. I still haven't left the group, though, for the exact reasons you're citing - and everyone still thinks I'm in charge. I'm not. I've all but left.
