Eh, I don't know your friend of course. It's certainly not more "woke" or whatever. But if it is something that just "clicked" for her, I can see why she's raving.

Based on the wording of the secret and, yeah absolutely, my own bias experience, I suspect friend may have found a kink they like, but can't JUST have it be a kink. I've encountered the "50 shades of grey is abuse, but this woman whipping the living shit out of this boy is hot and progressive and subverts the expectation of women as submissive, which makes my kink a political statement against oppression of women as well as being totally hot"

I mean, I'm reading a LOT into it, but I've seen those kinds of takes before.

Yup. Annoys me even as someone who very much has a femdom kink (well, certain types because I'm only into certain types of kink in general). Femdom is hot as hell to me. But it isn't any more progressive than any other kink. Kink isn't anything but kink. It isn't a political act. It is just what turns you on personally. You do you, and that's great. Everyone gets to have their own personal kink. But don't pretend you're doing anything more than just getting off.
