I realize that. However, after being picked on or singled out because of both my transness and having a neurological disorder...I'm kind of wary of people who do such things for attention/the LULZ.

I get what you're saying. But dude. He's a pregnant man. He's going to have people poking into his private life and making a spectacle of him whether he wants it or not; the only way to avoid it would be to seal himself in the house for nine months. I can see why people would have issues with it, but I can also see why he'd decide that, well, might as well take the inevitable publicity and get something out of it.

Oh yeah. He totally did it for the lulz. A transman would put himself through pregnancy for shits and giggles, and to go, "Tee hee, world! Look at me! LOLOLOLOL!"

Like most things inherrent in parenting, I thought it was pretty selfless. Anyway, I didn't keep up with the publicity, but I did see an episode of Oprah that he was on, and I found him to be quite handsome, even pregnant, and a very articulate and personable speaker-- so the thought of him going Tee hee world look at me LOLOLOLOLOLOL actually just made me LOL.

Also an FtM here, and I gotta say...while at one point I would have aborted as fast as possible if I'd gotten pregnant, at this point I think I'm comfortable enough with myself that I'd keep it. Not that it would be easy to be pregnant or anything, but it wouldn't break me.

Of course, the chances of my actually getting pregnant are about as likely as immaculate conception, so this is all speculation on my part. Still, I don't think the act of bearing a child is something that invalidates a male identity, any more than having a period or wearing a bra. It's something that frequently goes with the bits, but as you know, phenotype isn't destiny.
